Ever wanted to collect your own honeycomb? An ideal, or shallow super is the most popular way to collect and sell honeycomb, with conveniently sized frames.
It’s also the perfect size for extra winter honey reserves for your bees. The box and frames are smaller in depth so the bees can fill them quickly.
These sustainably sourced New Zealand Radiata Pine ideal supers are manufactured in Langstroth ideal 8 or 10 frame sizing.
They can be used for brood, or as an additional ideal sized honey super.
The Flow Ideal Super includes our unique V™ design which also doubles as a feature handle.
Including 8 or 10 foundationless ideal frames for the bees to naturally build their comb, which can also accommodate wax, wire or plastic foundation.
Made in New Zealand from durable, FSC Certified Radiata Pine, these ideal supers are the perfect addition to any existing hive set-up.
This product is manufactured to the same specifications as the Flow Hive 2, and Flow Hive 2+ and is compatible with all individual components in this range.

The Flow Ideal Super is not a complete hive and is designed to be added to an existing hive. You will need a brood box, base, queen excluder, super, inner cover and roof. If you are getting set-up for the first time, we recommend a complete Flow Hive as this comes with everything that you need.
No. The Flow Ideal Super should be able to be added as an extra box to your hive. Manufactured to Flow Hive 2 and Flow Hive 2+ specifications – you can check dimensions for compatibility with your hive here.
